The 216MB66 is Eurocard‑format plug‑in communication interface board for ABB REG216 generator‑transformer numerical protection‑control system. It acts as external communication gateway for the REG216 rack. This module converts internal B448C parallel back‑plane bus data into serial protocol for upper‑level control systems. It supports event reporting, measured value transmission, remote parameter setting and protection‑function configuration between REG216 protection unit and SCADA / DCS workstation. On‑board self‑diagnosis monitors power supply, bus interface and communication hardware faults. Widely used in power‑plant generator‑transformer protection cabinets. Not hot‑swappable.
