Description

Key Technical Parameters
Module Type: 8‑channel single‑ended analog input module Signal Type: 4‑20 mA current input per channel Resolution: 12‑bit A/D conversion Channel Quantity: 8 channels, non‑isolated channel‑to‑channel Backplane Bus: Advant OCS internal controller bus Field Connection: External terminal unit for field signal wiring Operating Temperature: 0 °C ~ +60 °C, non‑condensing inside control cabinet Power Supply: Powered via system backplane bus Status Indicator: Module OK status LED for hardware diagnosis Compatible System: ABB Advant OCS / MasterPiece DCS control hardware Software Configuration: Parameter setting via Advant engineering tool Certification: UL, CE industrial certification Important Note: This module only works within Advant OCS system; cannot be used standalone. Matched terminal base unit is required for field wiring.
Practical Application Features
Collects 4‑20 mA standard signals from pressure, flow, level and temperature transmitters in process plants. Supports channel‑by‑channel configuration for signal processing and scaling inside DCS controller. Provides module‑level hardware diagnostic information for system fault alarm. High‑density 8‑point design reduces rack‑slot consumption for multi‑point analog‑acquisition projects. Suited for continuous‑process industries including thermal power auxiliary control, chemical plant, paper‑making production lines. Mainly used for spare‑part replacement and hardware renovation of existing legacy Advant OCS DCS sites.
Field Installation & Commissioning Guidance
Power off the DCS rack before inserting or removing the module. Insert DSAI130D into any valid slot of Advant OCS rack and lock firmly. Connect field transmitter 4‑20 mA signal cables to corresponding matched terminal unit. Adopt shielded twisted‑pair cables for analog signal wiring. Separate analog signal cables from high‑power inverter and motor power cables to suppress electromagnetic interference. Complete hardware configuration in Advant engineering software, enable required channels and set scaling parameters corresponding to field instruments. Download configuration to DCS controller. Verify module OK LED indicator is normal after power‑on. Perform point‑by‑point signal test on‑site, compare DCS reading with actual transmitter output value. Keep cabinet ventilation well, avoid long‑term operation under excessive ambient temperature.
In‑Site Troubleshooting Reference
- Module OK LED off: Poor backplane contact, rack backplane power supply anomaly, internal hardware damage of DSAI130D module.
- All channel readings zero or frozen: Terminal unit power missing, loose bus connector, wrong hardware configuration download.
- Individual channel reading zero: Field transmitter power loss, signal loop open‑circuit, terminal wiring loose contact.
- Unstable and fluctuating analog values: Poor shielding grounding, analog cables mixed with high‑power cables; optimize wiring routing and cabinet grounding.
- Module cannot be recognized by controller: Module inserted into invalid slot, inconsistent hardware configuration setting in engineering software.
- Readout deviation exceeds allowable range: Incorrect scaling parameter configuration, field transmitter calibration drift.
