ABB DYSF118B 61430001-XG Analog Output Module

DYSF118B is an 8‑channel high‑precision analog output module for ABB Advant OCS DCS rack‑mount control system. It receives digital set‑point values from the controller via ModuleBus back‑plane bus, converts digital signals into standard industrial analog current / voltage signals to drive field modulating actuators such as control valves, variable‑speed drives, positioners and analog indicators. Each channel can be independently configured for current or voltage mode. It adopts group‑wise galvanic isolation, high‑precision DAC chip, comprehensive channel‑level fault diagnosis function, widely used for closed‑loop regulation control in thermal power plant, petrochemical, metallurgy and water‑treatment industries.

Main Functions

  1. 8‑channel multi‑range analog output:Each channel independently switch between current and voltage mode, adapt to different field modulating actuators such as regulating valve positioner, frequency converter, analog display instrument.
  2. Group‑wise galvanic isolation:2 channels per isolation group, suppress ground loop interference when different field ground domains are mixed.
  3. Full channel self‑diagnosis function:Detect output short‑circuit, over‑current, open‑load, internal DAC hardware fault. Fault information including channel number and fault type is uploaded to DCS controller for alarm log.
  4. Per‑channel LED status indicator
    • Green ON:channel normal running
    • Green OFF:channel deactivated
    • Red flash:channel fault (short‑circuit / over‑current / open‑circuit / hardware failure)
  5. Parameter configuration via Control Builder software:Select output signal range, output fail‑safe value (hold last value / preset safe value), fault latch / auto‑reset mode, channel signal invert.
  6. Fail‑safe feature:When communication loss between module and controller occurs, each channel can hold last output value or jump to user‑defined safe output value, guarantee process safety.
  7. No field‑side fuse required:Adopt electronic limiting and short‑circuit protection, automatically restore operation after fault condition disappears, reduce spare‑part maintenance work.

Installation & Wiring Requirements

  1. Insert module into Advant OCS standard rack slot, lock mechanical latch; back‑plane bus completes power supply and ModuleBus communication automatically.
  2. Ensure cabinet ventilation, avoid conductive dust, corrosive gas and strong electromagnetic interference source nearby.
  3. Use shielded twisted‑pair cable for analog output wiring; connect cable shield single‑end grounding at cabinet side to reduce noise interference.
  4. Strictly follow load specification: do not exceed max load resistance for current output, do not connect low‑impedance load to voltage output channel.
  5. Cabinet protective grounding must comply with industrial control grounding specification to guarantee isolation performance and anti‑interference capability.
  6. Do not mix high‑voltage AC signal wiring together with analog output signal cable.
