Main Functions
- Three‑phase power device firing pulse generation:Convert phase‑angle control orders from main controller into high‑energy isolated trigger pulses, drive thyristor or IGCT rectifier bridge to adjust generator excitation current, realize closed‑loop voltage and reactive‑power regulation.
- Field analog signal conditioning:Condition excitation voltage and excitation current sampling signals, filter high‑frequency interference inside power cabinet, transmit processed sampling data back to main controller for closed‑loop calculation.
- Digital status signal acquisition:Collect cabinet auxiliary contact status, circuit‑breaker position feedback, interlock signals and send to main control unit.
- Real‑time pulse hardware monitoring:Detect loss‑of‑firing‑pulse, abnormal pulse timing, power‑device mis‑fire fault.
- Fault diagnosis & fault‑code upload:Detect pulse channel failure, sampling‑circuit abnormal, internal hardware fault. Fault information including fault type is uploaded to excitation controller, displayed on local HMI and remote DCS for alarm and troubleshooting.
- On‑board multi‑LED status indication
- Green LED:Board 24V auxiliary power supply normal
- Yellow LED:Firing pulse output active
- Red LED:Pulse fault / sampling circuit failure / board hardware error
- High‑voltage galvanic isolation:Isolate low‑voltage control circuit and high‑power rectifier circuit, prevent high‑voltage penetration and protect controller hardware and personal safety.
Installation & Wiring Requirements
- Insert board into standard Euro‑card cabinet slot, lock front‑panel handles; ensure back‑plane gold‑finger connector fully engaged. Hot‑swap is strictly forbidden; cut off cabinet total power before disassembly and assembly.
- Ensure cabinet ventilation and heat dissipation; avoid conductive dust and corrosive gas accumulation on PCB surface.
- Strictly separate high‑voltage pulse wiring, analog sampling signal wiring and high‑power main‑circuit busbar, route in different cable ducts to reduce interference coupling.
- Analog measurement signals must adopt shielded twisted‑pair cable; single‑end shield grounding inside excitation cabinet.
- Cabinet protective grounding must strictly follow ABB UNITROL excitation‑system grounding specification to guarantee isolation performance and anti‑interference capability.
- Verify 24 V DC logic power supply within allowable tolerance; over‑voltage will cause permanent hardware damage.
