Description
Technical background & performance features
Standard plug‑in board for ABB control rack, part number NTAC‑02.
Accepts sine‑wave pulse signal from magnetic pickup speed probe, completes signal shaping and frequency‑to‑digital conversion.
Supports turbine rotating speed acquisition, overspeed pre‑warning signal output.
Data transmission through internal rack backplane bus; working power supplied by rack back‑plane.
Front‑panel LED indicators reflect signal input status, module running condition and fault alarm.
Installation inside control cabinet, non‑condensing environment required.
Spare parts should be stored in dry place, avoid mechanical shock and static electricity damage.
Cannot run independently. Requires matching rack, main controller and magnetic pickup sensor assembly. Firmware version shall be consistent with whole system. Powered hot‑swap is not allowed.

Typical application scenarios
Widely used in steam turbine, gas‑turbine and generator auxiliary control cabinets of power plants.
Responsible for real‑time rotating speed collection, provides basic speed data for overspeed protection, speed regulation and load control logic.
On‑site installation points to note
Cut off rack power supply before mounting or removing this board.
Follow anti‑static operation rules when handling PCB hardware.
Insert into designated slot and lock tightly to guarantee stable backplane pin contact.
Keep magnetic‑pickup signal cable far away from high‑power main‑loop cables to reduce electromagnetic interference.
Check PCB surface for scratches and component damage before power‑on.
Complete hardware configuration in supporting engineering software.
After power‑on, verify speed value reading under actual rotating state.
Ensure cabinet ventilation performance; high temperature will shorten service life of signal processing circuit.
Common on‑site phenomena and analysis ideas
All front‑panel LEDs keep dark: Check rack back‑plane power supply loop, check slot pin contamination or internal power‑circuit damage.
Zero speed reading while unit is rotating: Inspect magnetic pickup probe gap, signal cable integrity, connector contact condition and board channel health.
Speed value jitters and fluctuates: Caused by improper probe installation gap, poor cabinet grounding or cable interference.
Module cannot be recognized by controller: Confirm slot position and system configuration download completeness.
Damage after field surge fault: Replace NTAC‑02 board, meanwhile check speed probe and related wiring for secondary damage.
