Based on magnetostrictive effect: when web tension acts on the roll, force is transferred to PFCL201C load cell, changing magnetic properties of internal magnetic material, and secondary coil outputs weak induction signal proportional to tension. Normally applied in pairs, one PFCL201C‑20kN installed at each end of the roll; total tension is obtained by summing signals from two sensors.
Zero‑point and range adjustment are not available on the sensor itself. All calibration and parameter configuration are completed on the backend PFEA amplifier. Good anti‑transverse‑force performance, only sensitive to vertical force, suitable for high‑speed continuous production lines.
Cannot operate standalone; junction box and tension amplifier are required for connection to control system.
Difference compared with PFTL series: PFTL is strain‑gauge type tension sensor; PFCL201C is magnetostrictive pillow‑block load cell with superior overload resistance for medium‑heavy‑duty tension applications.
Pillow‑base mounting. Roll shaft end presses directly onto the sensor bearing surface. Only vertical compressive force is permitted; bending moment and torsion are forbidden. The mounting base shall possess sufficient rigidity, since base deformation will result in measuring error. Use dedicated shielded cables and keep them separated from power cables to reduce electromagnetic interference. Zero‑point and span calibration on amplifier side are mandatory after sensor replacement.
