ABB PPC380AE102 HIEE300885R0102 Main Processor Control Board

PPC380AE102 (HIEE300885R0102) is the upgraded main‑processor board for ABB UNITROL 6000 static excitation system and AC800‑PEC power‑electronic control platform. Compared with PPC380AE01 / PPC380AE02, this variant upgrades on‑board memory capacity and optimizes FPGA timing logic, suitable for large‑capacity excitation configurations with complex function requirements. It executes AVR automatic voltage‑regulation algorithm, excitation protection logic, reactive‑power / power‑factor control and sequence control programs. It communicates with measurement board, pulse driver board and communication board via high‑speed back‑plane bus, coordinates the whole excitation control system operation, stores project parameters, fault event logs and disturbance‑recording waveforms. It is the central core spare part for large‑generator excitation cabinet. Product status: Obsolete, only spare‑part supply available.

Main Functions

  1. Core real‑time excitation control algorithm execution:Run AVR automatic voltage‑regulation logic, reactive‑power / power‑factor closed‑loop control, multi‑excitation‑limiter function and multi‑set‑parameter switching logic for large synchronous generator.
  2. Excitation protection and sequence‑logic processing:Complete over‑excitation, under‑excitation, loss‑of‑field, over‑current, V/Hz protection calculation; handle cabinet startup‑stop sequence, field‑breaker control and multi‑channel interlock logic.
  3. System‑wide data coordination:Interact with measurement board, pulse driver board, communication board via back‑plane bus; receive high‑speed sampling data, send firing‑pulse commands, forward operating data and alarm events.
  4. Large‑capacity parameter storage & fault waveform recording:Store complex project configuration parameters locally; capture multi‑group fault snapshot, event log and long‑time disturbance‑recording waveforms for post‑accident maintenance analysis.
  5. Hardware watchdog self‑monitoring:Built‑in hardware watchdog circuit; trigger safety pulse‑blocking protection when CPU runs abnormally to avoid uncontrolled excitation output.
  6. Comprehensive self‑diagnosis function:Detect firmware exception, memory failure, back‑plane bus communication error. Fault codes are generated and uploaded to local HMI and remote DCS alarm system.
  7. On‑board multi‑LED status indication
    • Green LED:Board 24 V auxiliary power supply normal, CPU running healthy
    • Yellow LED:Back‑plane bus data transmitting / receiving active
    • Red LED:CPU fault / bus communication failure / board hardware error

Installation & Wiring Requirements

  1. Insert board into standard Euro‑card cabinet slot, lock front‑panel handles; ensure back‑plane gold‑finger connector fully engaged. Hot‑swap is strictly forbidden; cut off cabinet total power before disassembly and assembly.
  2. Ensure cabinet ventilation and heat dissipation; avoid conductive dust and corrosive gas accumulating on PCB surface.
  3. Cabinet protective grounding must strictly follow ABB UNITROL6000 system grounding specification to guarantee anti‑interference capability.
  4. Verify 24 V DC logic power supply within allowable tolerance; over‑voltage will cause permanent hardware damage.
  5. After replacement, strictly verify firmware compatibility with peripheral boards; download matched firmware and complete project‑parameter downloading; perform overall closed‑loop commissioning test.
  6. Replacement note:Cannot directly substitute AE01/AE02 without firmware upgrade; firmware version must match whole system configuration.
