Protection functions include over‑voltage, over‑current, short‑circuit and over‑temperature with automatic short‑circuit recovery. Two PU516A units can run in redundant parallel mode with automatic load sharing. If one unit fails, the other takes over seamlessly without system shutdown. Installation & Maintenance Notes
Power off the cabinet main power before any insertion or removal operation. Hot‑swap is strictly forbidden, which may burn this module as well as CPU and I/O cards in the rack. Fasten terminal screws firmly; long‑term industrial vibration may cause loose contacts, sparking and voltage drop. Reserve proper ventilation space above and below the module. Do not cover ventilation holes with cables. For dusty cabinet environments, clean heat dissipation channels periodically. Dust accumulation leads to poor cooling and over‑temperature protection shutdown. Recommended cabinet ambient temperature ranges from ‑20℃ to +60℃. Output capacity will derate when ambient temperature exceeds 40℃. Long‑term full‑load operation under high‑temperature surroundings is not advised. This is a critical spare component. On‑site disassembly and repair are not recommended. Replace the whole unit directly once faults occur.
Common Abnormal Phenomena & Troubleshooting
- Power‑on with total dark status LED. Check cabinet circuit breaker and fuses to confirm external input power. Inspect loose terminals. Verify rack slot pin integrity; test by shifting the module to another slot for comparison.
- Random controller power‑off and restart during operation. Check cabinet internal temperature first; blocked ventilation triggers over‑temperature protection. Inspect all rack‑mounted cards for short‑circuit faults. Confirm total system load does not exceed PU516A rated output capacity.
- Persistent warning LED flashing. It indicates internal anomaly, possibly component aging, output voltage drift or failure of the paired redundant power unit. Read system diagnostic alarm messages. Replace spare unit as soon as possible instead of running under faulty status.
- One power unit offline under redundant mode. Check redundant inter‑connection wiring for tight connection. Keep hardware versions of two power units consistent; version mismatch will result in abnormal load distribution.
