The RED521 1MRK002003‑BA is an early‑generation numerical busbar differential protection IED from ABB. It adopts low‑impedance differential protection principle, designed for substation busbar protection. It supports multi‑feeder current acquisition, implements fast differential fault judgment for busbar internal faults, and maintains stable operation under heavy CT saturation conditions. This device accepts 1 A or 5 A CT secondary current input without intermediate current transformers. It is built with modular plug‑in hardware structure, including analog input boards, binary input/output boards, processing module and communication interface. It supports local HMI operation, disturbance recording and event sequence logging. Installation Requirement

Installed in 19‑inch standard rack of substation protection cabinet. Strictly follow CT polarity requirements for current loop wiring, prohibit CT secondary open‑circuit. Auxiliary power supply shall be within rated DC range. After replacement, download complete project configuration, execute differential protection logic test, CT polarity verification, trip‑loop action test, and communication test with station control system. Check self‑diagnosis status to confirm no hardware fault alarms.
