Core performance features
This module provides 8 channels of relay output. Each contact is potential‑free, for switching external AC or DC loads. Relay contacts are isolated from internal control circuit, restraining interference transfer between field side and control system. Works together with S800 series termination bases such as TU810. ModuleBus communicates with I/O adapter to receive control commands from upper controller. No field power is sourced from module itself; operating power comes from back‑plane bus. Each channel has corresponding status LED lamp, showing relay pull‑in status visually. Horizontal installation ambient temperature 0‑55℃, vertical mounting 0‑40℃. IP20, only for cabinet‑inside use. Pay attention to contact rated capacity, avoid over‑current burning relay contacts.
On‑site application scenarios
Applied in AC800M distributed I/O stations for chemical plants, paper mills and power‑industry control cabinets. Used to control auxiliary contactors, small‑valve coils, alarm indicator lamps and interlock signal loops. When output channel fails on‑site, technicians can replace only this electronic module, all field cables stay on termination base, shortening maintenance downtime. It is frequently selected for new cabinet configuration and spare‑part inventory for old‑system upgrade. Mixed usage with other S800 analog and digital modules is allowed on same DIN‑rail station.
Installation & operating notes
Though hot‑swap function is available, reduce frequent plug‑pull actions under running status to protect connector spring contacts. External load shall be equipped with surge absorption components for inductive loads such as contactor coils, to extend relay service life. Check mechanical coding setting on termination base before inserting module, prevent mismatched module installation. Keep cabinet ventilation well. Excessive cabinet temperature will accelerate relay contact aging. Do not perform component‑level repair on‑site; replace whole module when hardware defect occurs.
Common field phenomena & disposal thoughts
- Control command sent but relay output no action: Check configuration software channel enable status. Confirm load‑side power supply. Observe channel LED status; if LED lights but contact has no output, internal relay contact is damaged.
- Relay channel intermittent on‑off: Check inductive‑load surge absorption measures. Inspect whether load exceeds contact rated current. Check cabinet temperature and connector contact condition.
- Module cannot be recognized by I/O station: Re‑seat module on termination base. Check ModuleBus connection of I/O station. Confirm hardware version compatibility.
- Relay contact burns frequently: Re‑calculate actual load current. Add external auxiliary relay for heavy‑current occasions, do not let large‑current pass XO08R2 contacts directly.
