Bently 85515-02 Power Supply Module for 3300 Monitor Rack

The 85515‑02 is a rack‑mounted power supply module for Bently Nevada 3300 machinery monitoring rack system. It accepts dual‑range input power, converts input voltage into multiple regulated internal DC bus rails to supply power for all monitor modules and transducers inside the 3300 rack. It supports up to 12 monitor modules operating simultaneously within the rack. Integrated protection circuits implement over‑voltage, under‑voltage, reverse‑polarity and over‑current fault protection. Power supply failure will cause loss of measurement and protection functions for the entire rack. Proper input wiring and ventilation cooling must be maintained to guarantee stable long‑term operation.

Environmental Specifications

‑ Relative Humidity: 5%‑95 %, non‑condensing ‑ Vibration Resistance: Complies with industrial cabinet vibration requirements ‑ Heat Dissipation: Requires sufficient cabinet ventilation to avoid over‑temperature derating

Core Functions

  1. System central power conversion: Accepts either DC or AC field input power and generates stable multi‑channel regulated DC power for all monitor modules and proximitor transducers in the 3300 rack.
  2. Full‑rack load driving: Capable of supplying power for maximum 12 monitor modules in one complete 3300 rack frame.
  3. Multi‑layer fault protection: Shuts down output automatically under over‑voltage, under‑voltage, reverse‑polarity and over‑current conditions to prevent secondary damage to downstream monitor boards. Output recovers automatically once input condition returns to valid operating window.
  4. System health status indication: Provides power‑ok status signal to rack logic for system diagnostic reporting.

Installation, Replacement & Critical Warnings

  1. This power module is non‑hot‑swappable. Disconnect main input power before inserting or removing the module.
  2. Compatibility warning: ‑ Designed exclusively for 3300 series rack dedicated power slot; cannot be applied to 3500 rack hardware. ‑ Select correct input power type (DC or AC) according to site power source; incorrect input selection will permanently damage the unit. ‑ Ensure cabinet ventilation clearance, avoid surrounding high‑heat components; over‑temperature will trigger power‑supply shutdown. ‑ Inspect backplane connector pins for bending, debris and corrosion before module insertion. ‑ Input power wiring shall adopt adequate wire gauge and proper terminal torque to prevent over‑heating at terminals.
  3. After replacement commissioning and verification: ‑ Apply rated input power and confirm power‑ok status indicator is active. ‑ Verify all rack monitor modules power up without hardware fault alarms. ‑ Check each measurement channel returns valid readings without dropout. ‑ Simulate input power deviation, confirm protection function responds as designed.

Common Failure Modes and Symptoms

‑ Input power out of tolerance: Power supply enters protection shutdown, entire rack loses function. ‑ Internal component degradation: Intermittent power drop‑out, sporadic rack reset, random module fault alarms. ‑ Over‑temperature shutdown: Complete rack power loss, resumes operation after temperature cools down. ‑ Backplane contact deterioration: Unstable power delivery, intermittent channel failures. ‑ Reverse‑polarity input: Internal fuse or circuit damage, no output after power application.
