Description

Basic Hardware Information

‑ Terminal quantity: 36 IEC box‑type screw terminals (A1‑A18, B1‑B18), including shared power‑return terminals ‑ Wire specification: Solid / stranded copper wire, AWG14‑22 (0.36‑2.1 mm²) ‑ Electrical rating: Max 2 A per single point; 8 A maximum for power‑ground common segment; continuous voltage 0‑264 VAC; transient withstand 300 VAC ‑ Bus interface: VersaMax internal backplane connector, transmits 5 VDC power and process data between I/O module and system rack ‑ Configurable parts: On‑board jumpers for analog current‑range selection (4‑20 mA / 0‑20 mA) for matched analog input modules ‑ Mechanical: 35 mm standard DIN‑rail snap‑on mounting; dimensions 66.8 × 163.5 × 70 mm; weight approx 0.24 kg ‑ Hot‑swap feature: Upper I/O module supports RIUP removal‑insertion under power; carrier base itself shall not be removed while rack is powered‑on ‑ Operating ambient temperature: 0 ℃ ~ +60 ℃; storage temperature ‑40 ℃ ~ +85 ℃; relative humidity 5‑95 % non‑condensing ‑ Compatibility: Fits most VersaMax single‑slot I/O modules such as IC200ALG264 / IC200ALG264H; incompatible with spring‑clamp type carrier variants.

Core Functions & Features

  1. Provides mechanical locking socket for one VersaMax I/O module, transfers backplane 5 VDC supply and internal bus communication signals to upper‑mounted I/O hardware。
  2. 36‑point screw terminals complete all field‑side sensor / actuator wiring connection. When replacing I/O module, field cables remain fastened on carrier base without re‑wiring, shorten maintenance downtime.
  3. On‑board physical jumpers define analog‑input signal range; jumper setting directly affects measurement range of matched analog modules.
  4. Isolation performance is determined by upper‑plug‑in I/O module; carrier base itself provides no additional galvanic isolation circuit.
  5. Supports vertical perpendicular installation of I/O module relative to DIN‑rail plane, compact cabinet layout.

On‑site Installation & Commissioning Notes

  1. Securely snap IC200CHS022 onto grounded 35 mm DIN‑rail. Do not remove carrier base while rack power is active.
  2. Tighten field‑wiring terminal screws with proper torque; loose terminals will generate intermittent signal faults.
  3. Adjust on‑board jumpers according to actual field‑instrument signal range before installing I/O module; mismatched jumper position will produce measurement offset.
  4. Firmly latch corresponding I/O module into carrier‑base socket until locking buckle clicks; incomplete latching leads to backplane communication failure.
  5. Keep sufficient clearance around carrier base for heat dissipation; avoid installation position with heavy vibration, oil‑mist and conductive dust accumulation.
  6. Replacement note: Spring‑clamp terminal carriers cannot serve as direct substitutes. Must use identical part‑number carrier base; after replacement, double‑check jumper configuration and perform channel point‑to‑point test.
