- Complete hardware configuration within Proficy Machine Edition software, define rack layout, slot assignment and installed I/O module types.
- Download hardware configuration and user program to CPU, perform online monitoring, verify I/O channel status and serial‑communication link.
- Periodically inspect CPU battery status. Replace lithium battery when low‑battery alarm appears to prevent loss of runtime parameters and clock after power‑cycle.
- Replacement note: IC200CPU005 / IC200CPUE05 are pin‑compatible but have larger memory and different performance; direct swap requires re‑validation of project configuration.
Common On‑site Abnormal Conditions
‑ OK LED off after power‑on: VersaMax backplane power supply fault, damaged CPU hardware or incomplete module seating on carrier base. ‑ Battery‑low alarm: Aging backup lithium battery; risk of register data and clock loss after power loss. ‑ Parameters lost after power‑cycle: Battery failure or poor battery‑holder contact; program stored in flash will remain intact. ‑ CPU stays in STOP mode: Hardware RUN/STOP switch set to STOP position, fatal program fault or I/O configuration mismatch. ‑ Serial communication no response: Mismatched baud‑rate, parity, station address, incorrect wiring or damaged serial‑port hardware. ‑ Intermittent system fault: Cabinet over‑temperature, incompatible I/O module firmware or corrupted runtime data.
