Common On‑site Abnormal Conditions
‑ BUS‑ACTIVE LED remains off: Wrong baud‑rate setting, missing bus termination resistor, damaged bus trunk cable, duplicate Genius drop‑address, master controller not configured for this drop address. ‑ FAULT LED illuminated: Local‑backplane defective I/O module, poor module‑seating on backplane socket, corrupted BIU station‑configuration data. ‑ Entire station no communication: Loss of BIU main AC/DC input power, internal BIU hardware failure. ‑ Intermittent station offline: Vibration‑induced bus‑terminal loose contact, inadequate shielding‑grounding, bus baud‑rate mismatch with actual cable length. ‑ Partial I/O modules unrecognized: Modules not fully latched on backplane socket, insufficient BIU backplane drive‑capacity, incompatible module‑firmware revision. ‑ Configuration lost after power‑cycle: BIU internal non‑volatile memory hardware anomaly; requires full station‑configuration re‑download.
