Core Functions & Features
- Dual‑function analog module: acquires differential sensor signals (pressure, flow, level, temperature) via 4 input channels, meanwhile generates analog control signals for valve positioners and actuators via 2 output channels, saves PLC rack slot resources。
- Software‑driven per‑channel range configuration; mixed‑voltage‑and‑current mode is supported on one module. 4‑20 mA Enhanced mode reports open‑loop fault for broken field cable or transmitter power‑loss。
- Output configurable fail‑safe state: hold last output value or go to low‑scale value when CPU stops or fault occurs; output ramp function allows smooth set‑point transition controlled by user logic。
- Differential input architecture strongly rejects industrial common‑mode interference, improves measurement stability in heavy‑EMI field environments.
- Detachable terminal‑block keeps field wiring intact during module swap, shortens maintenance downtime.
- Revision‑A/B/C units are direct drop‑in replacements for older IC693ALG442 hardware; only software channel‑range configuration needs validation after replacement.
On‑site Installation & Commissioning Notes
- Power‑off complete Series 90‑30 rack before installing or removing IC693ALG442; apply anti‑static protection. Fully seat module into baseplate slot until locking tab clicks firmly into place.
- Use shielded twisted‑pair cables for analog field wiring; separate analog signal cables from high‑voltage AC and heavy‑power discrete wiring to reduce EMI interference; single‑point shield grounding is recommended. Torque terminal‑block screws to specified torque value.
- Set the single input‑mode jumper on terminal block according to whether inputs use current‑loop signals. Supply stable 24 VDC external isolated user‑power to module terminals; verify power polarity and ensure input stays within 20‑30 VDC operating window.
- Complete hardware slot configuration within PLC programming software, assign slot module‑type as IC693ALG442; configure input / output range for each individual channel, download hardware configuration to CPU.
- After commissioning, verify steady‑on OK‑LED status. Perform calibrator signal injection test for input channels and output signal test; simulate open‑loop condition on 4‑20 mA‑Enhanced input channels to confirm diagnostic‑bit trigger.
- Replacement note: Separate analog‑input / analog‑output modules cannot serve as direct substitute. After replacement, double‑check input‑mode jumper setting, external 24 VDC power‑supply and software channel‑range configuration, execute full‑point analog‑channel test.
Common On‑site Abnormal Conditions
‑ Module OK‑LED off after power‑on: Poor module seating on baseplate socket, backplane power abnormality, missing / out‑of‑range external 24 VDC user‑supply, internal module hardware failure. ‑ All‑channel input / output abnormal: Loss of external 24 VDC user‑drive‑power, incomplete hardware‑configuration download, wrong input‑mode jumper setting. ‑ Single‑channel no output: Field‑side short‑circuit triggering protective‑shutdown, loose terminal‑block screw contact, internal DAC‑driver damage. ‑ Current‑input channel reports open‑wire alarm: Field‑loop cable breakage, transmitter power‑loss, loose field‑terminal connection. ‑ Analog reading / output drift: Heavy electromagnetic‑interference, insufficient shielding‑grounding, cabinet ambient‑temperature exceeds rated operating range.
