Description
1. General Product Information
This module occupies the CPU slot on Series 90‑30 backplane rack, it does not run user control logic, all logic programs are executed by master CPU on remote side. It scans local I/O modules on its own rack and expansion racks, exchanges I/O data with master controller via Ethernet Global Data protocol. Hardware revisions are fully interchangeable. It supports simplex and fault‑tolerant ring network topology for distributed automation sites, widely used for workshop decentralized I/O collection and control.
2. Communication Interface & Protocol
Equipped with two independent RJ‑45 10/100 Base‑T Ethernet ports with auto‑sensing and auto‑negotiation function. Two ports share one single IP address, built‑in switch function supports daisy‑chain linear and ring topology wiring. Main supported protocols include Ethernet Global Data (EGD) and SRTP server. SNPX communication can be realized through auxiliary RS‑485 port. Industrial Cat5e or Cat6 shielded twisted‑pair cable is recommended for field wiring to improve anti‑interference performance. Multiple NIU drops can be connected under one master CPU to expand remote control points.
3. I/O Capacity & Internal Memory Resources
Maximum processable discrete input is 2048 points, discrete output is 2048 points. It supports up to 1264 analog input words and 512 analog output words. Internal system memory includes 4096 internal coils, 256 temporary coils and 9999 register words for data buffering during remote I/O data exchange. All local rack I/O modules connected to this NIU will be mapped to master CPU address area through EGD data exchange.
4. Backplane Power Consumption & Hardware Status Indication
Module draws power from Series 90‑30 PLC backplane. Multiple LED indicators are arranged on front panel to display module run status, network link status, communication fault and diagnostic alarm information. Operators can quickly judge network break, configuration mismatch and module abnormal status through LED lights, which facilitates on‑site troubleshooting and regular maintenance.
5. Environmental Specifications
Operating temperature ranges from 0°C to +55°C for normal industrial cabinet environment. Storage and transportation temperature is ‑40°C ~ +85°C. Relative humidity requirement is 5%‑95% non‑condensing. The module complies with UL, cUL and CE industrial safety certification standards.
6. Application Limitations & Notes
IC693NIU004 cannot work independently, it must match a master Series 90‑30 CPU which supports EGD protocol. Network communication delay shall be considered for real‑time control occasions. Ring topology needs correct configuration for fault‑tolerant function. Firmware version of master CPU and NIU module should keep matching to avoid communication failure.
