Description
1. General Product Information
This module occupies one standard I/O slot on Series 90‑30 backplane rack. It acts as DP master station, realizing cyclic I/O data interaction between local PLC and distributed PROFIBUS‑DP slaves. It supports hot‑swap installation under system power‑on condition. Corresponding CPU firmware version shall be V8.00 or above; for large‑scale network configuration, CPU firmware V10.60 or higher is recommended. Module configuration requires Logic Developer‑PLC software V3.0 and newer version. Different hardware revisions are pin‑to‑pin compatible for field replacement. It is widely applied for connecting remote I/O stations, frequency converters, servo drives and PROFIBUS‑DP‑compliant sensors and actuators in distributed automation projectsQualitrol。
2. Communication Interface & Protocol Features
Physical layer adopts RS‑485 standard, PROFIBUS‑DP DB9 connector for field bus connection. It supports full range standard PROFIBUS baud rates from 9.6Kbps up to 12Mbps. Maximum quantity of connectable DP slave devices reaches 125 units. Every single slave station supports maximum 244 bytes input data and 244 bytes output data. The module implements Sync mode and Freeze mode for synchronous control of multi‑slave stations. An extra RS‑232 service port is reserved on module front panel, which supports local firmware upgrade and diagnostic debugging without PROFIBUS network access. Daisy‑chain bus topology is adopted, proper terminal resistor must be installed at two ends of PROFIBUS cable segment to guarantee communication stability。
3. Working Mode & Data Processing Mechanism
When PLC runs under RUN or STOP‑IOScan state, IC693PBM200 automatically scans all configured slave stations, transmits output data from PLC to field devices and reads input feedback back to PLC memory address area. If PLC exits I/O scanning status, the module will keep slave scanning and enter CLEAR mode, sending zero‑value output data to all DP slaves. Once PLC resumes I/O scan, the module restores output transmission with the latest valid output data. All bus diagnostic information and slave fault status can be read by PLC program for alarm and fault handling. Network error, slave drop‑off and configuration mismatch can be captured for onsite maintenance reference。
4. Backplane Power Consumption & Status Indication
Module power is fully supplied by PLC backplane 5VDC bus, drawing 450mA current at 5VDC. Two front‑panel LED indicators COM and SYS show network communication status and module system running status respectively. COM LED reflects PROFIBUS bus traffic and slave communication faults; SYS LED displays module initialization, running status and internal hardware failure. Operators can quickly judge module working condition via LED status without software connectionabb-drive …。
5. Environmental Specifications
Operating ambient temperature: 0°C ~ +60°C for cabinet‑mount industrial environment. Storage and transportation temperature: ‑40°C ~ +85°C. Relative humidity: 5%‑95% non‑condensing. It complies with UL, cUL and CE industrial safety certifications.
6. Application Notes & Restrictions
This module works only as PROFIBUS‑DP master station and cannot run as DP slave. Pay attention to total input and output data volume when configuring large‑quantity slaves to avoid PLC memory overflow. Shielded PROFIBUS special cable is suggested for field wiring to reduce electromagnetic interference. Mismatch between CPU firmware, module firmware and project configuration will cause communication failure. Sync/Freeze function shall be used with caution for high‑speed synchronous motion control scenarios. Approximate module weight is 0.2kgabb-drive …
