GE IC693PCM311 Series 90‑30 Programmable Coprocessor Module (640KB)

IC693PCM311 is high‑memory programmable coprocessor module for GE Fanuc Series‑90‑30 PLC platform. It occupies one single‑slot on main baseplate, cannot be installed in expansion racks. Equipped with independent onboard processor, runs MegaBasic / C language user program independently, off‑loads heavy serial communication, protocol conversion, data logging and floating‑point computing tasks from main PLC CPUQualitrol. Total onboard memory 640KB, MegaBasic available program memory 190KB, it is the highest‑memory model among PCM300/301/311 series. Front‑panel 25‑pin D‑sub shared connector for two isolated serial ports, requires matching cable IC693CBL305 to split Port1 and Port2 physical interfaces. Supports Modbus‑RTU master/slave, GE‑CCM protocol, user‑defined private serial protocols. Only compatible with modular CPU: CPU340/350/360/370/374; NOT compatible with embedded CPU 311/313/323. RAM data backed‑up by external lithium battery IC693ACC301. Programming tool: PCM Development Toolkit. Product status: Obsolete, spare‑part only supply available.

Main Functions

  1. Independent coprocessor executes MegaBasic / C‑language programs, undertake serial communication polling, protocol conversion, data logging, string processing and floating‑point calculation, reduce main CPU scan‑time burden.
  2. Dual isolated serial ports, realize Modbus‑RTU master to poll large‑quantity inverters, instruments and third‑party serial devices; implement GE‑CCM multi‑PLC interconnection.
  3. Realize high‑speed data exchange with Series‑90‑30 CPU via backplane, transfer collected field serial data to PLC registers.
  4. LED status indication on front panel:   ‑ Green COPROC OK:Module power‑on and self‑test pass   ‑ P1 OK:Port1 communication status   ‑ P2 OK:Port2 communication status   ‑ RESET button:Manual module soft reset

Installation & Wiring Requirements

  1. Cut off Series‑90‑30 PLC rack power before replacement. Hot‑swap is forbidden. Strict anti‑static protection when handling module.
  2. Insert IC693PCM311 fully into main baseplate I/O slot (not slot1 CPU slot, not expansion rack) and lock latch; install backup battery IC693ACC301.
  3. Connect split cable IC693CBL305 to front‑panel 25‑pin connector; field serial wiring comply with GE hardware manual; separate serial signal cables from high‑power cables, connect shielding to protective ground terminal.
  4. Complete protective grounding according to GE Series‑90‑30 hardware manual specification.
  5. After replacement:power‑on rack, verify COPROC OK / P1 / P2 LED status; download PCM user program; perform serial‑device polling and backplane data exchange test.
  6. Replacement note: Confirm modular‑type CPU; module cannot be placed in expansion rack; check battery health; full‑system commissioning test mandatory before unit put‑into‑service.
