Description
Technical description
This hardware occupies one single slot on RX3i universal backplane. All sixteen channels implement full individual isolation instead of group‑shared common points, which prevents ground loop interference when different AC power sources are applied to separate channels. Hardware revisions support direct drop‑in swap during field maintenance. A DIP switch is arranged on module rear side, users can define output fallback mode as force‑off or hold‑last‑state under CPU fault condition. Multiple terminal styles are compatible including screw type, spring‑clamp and extended shroud terminals for heavy‑voltage AC wiring scenarios.
Nominal working voltage sits at 120/240VAC, practical acceptable signal range covers 74‑265VAC within 47‑63Hz frequency band. Per‑channel rated current reaches 2A under 30‑degree cabinet environment, value degrades down to 1A when ambient temperature rises to 60°C. One‑cycle peak inrush current can hit 20A for inductive load startup. Minimum load current of 10mA per channel is needed to secure stable switch element operation. Max voltage drop on output path keeps within 1.5V, off‑state leakage current stays below 2mA. Response delay follows AC half‑cycle characteristic. There is no built‑in fuse inside this unit, external over‑current protective parts must be arranged on field wiring loops.
Backplane power consumption reads 315mA drawn from 5VDC bus when all sixteen outputs are activated. Field AC power source shall be provided by user external power network; the module only completes switching action and cannot generate AC supply. Each channel is fitted with front‑side LED indicator for direct status observation. Diagnostic information of field circuit condition can be uploaded to RX3i CPU through backplane bus for program‑level alarm handling.
Optical isolation specification: 250VAC continuous withstand, 1500VAC one‑minute dielectric withstand between field AC side and controller logic side, delivering strong noise suppression for factory power‑noise heavy sites.
For environmental working limits, normal cabinet‑mount operating temperature runs 0°C ~ +60°C. Storage and transportation temperature ranges from ‑40°C ~ +85°C. Humidity condition requires 5%‑95% non‑condensing atmosphere. The hardware passes UL, cUL and CE industrial certification tests. Conformal coated variant IC694MDL350CA is available for moist and corrosive cabinet surroundings. Approximate unit weight is 0.29kg.
During practical deployment, pay attention to current derating under high cabinet temperature. Inductive AC loads are allowed yet proper surge protection still needs evaluation. This hardware is made exclusively for RX3i rack platform and cannot fit Series 90‑30 baseplate. Do not feed voltage higher than 265VAC onto output channels, otherwise internal semiconductor switches may suffer permanent damage.
