Description
Technical description
This hardware occupies one single slot on RX3i universal backplane. Sixteen Form‑A NO relay contacts are divided into four electrically separated groups with four channels for each bank. Every group has its independent common terminal, users can apply different power sources across groups without cross‑circuit interference. Multiple hardware revisions are fully drop‑in compatible for field replacement work. Conformal coated variant IC694MDL940CA is available for humid and corrosive cabinet surroundings. Each output channel is fitted with dedicated front‑panel LED lamp, operators can read real‑time channel status without configuration software connection. There is no built‑in fuse on board; external over‑current protection should be arranged on field wiring loops to avoid hardware damage under short‑circuit faults。
Nominal working voltage covers 24VDC, 120VAC and 240VAC. Practical operating range is 5‑30VDC for DC loads and 5‑250VAC within 47‑63Hz for AC loads. Per‑channel resistive pilot‑duty current rating is 2A. Each group common terminal allows maximum combined 4A current. Minimum wetting current of 10mA is required to maintain reliable relay contact closure. Short‑time inrush current up to 5A can be tolerated for load startup moment. Both operate and release response time are limited to maximum 15ms, which makes it fit for low‑frequency switching applications; frequent high‑speed actuation will accelerate contact wear and shorten service lifespan。
Isolation performance: continuous 250VAC withstand and 1500VAC one‑minute dielectric withstand between field side and PLC logic backplane, same specification applies between different output groups. Internal relay coil driving power comes from rack backplane bus. Under condition of all outputs activated, it draws 7mA from 5V logic bus and 135mA from 24V relay bus. All field load power must be supplied by external user power supply, the hardware only provides dry‑contact switching path instead of generating field‑side power output. Matching terminal hardware includes screw‑type and spring‑clamp versions which need separate ordering according to site wiring preference。
For environmental working limits, cabinet‑mount operating temperature runs 0°C ~ +60°C. Storage and transportation temperature spans ‑40°C ~ +85°C. Relative humidity keeps 5%‑95% non‑condensing atmosphere. This hardware meets UL, cUL and CE industrial certification standards. Approximate unit weight is 0.36kg。
During practical deployment, total current of each group shall not exceed 4A limitation. Users should avoid high‑frequency cyclic switching tasks to extend relay service life. This component is exclusively built for RX3i platform and cannot be installed onto Series 90‑30 baseplate. When pairing with certain DC power supplies such as IC695PSD040, special attention should be paid to transient voltage dip which may trigger unexpected relay dropout. Inductive loads are acceptable yet corresponding surge suppression measures are suggested for long‑term stable running。
