Description
Technical description This unit occupies one CPU‑slot position on RX3i universal backplane. It adopts 300‑MHz processing core, featuring 10 MB battery‑backed RAM plus 10 MB non‑volatile flash storage for user logic and data preservation. External lithium battery hardware maintains RAM content during full power loss, battery accessories are ordered separately.

The controller supports up to 512 program blocks while each single block allows maximum 128 KB capacity. Multiple programming standards are covered, including ladder diagram, structured text, function block diagram and C‑language development. Floating‑point arithmetic calculation is fully supported for process‑oriented control tasks. Typical boolean instruction processing speed reaches 0.195 ms per one thousand boolean operations.
Two isolated serial interfaces are fitted on front panel, providing software‑selectable RS‑232 and RS‑485 signal levels. Supported serial protocols contain Modbus RTU Slave, SNP and Serial I/O, facilitating connection with local HMI, field instruments and third‑party serial devices. Isolation strength between serial channel and internal backplane circuit reaches 500 VDC continuous withstand.

Redundancy synchronization relies on external Ethernet communication adapters such as IC695ETM001, data mirroring runs over dedicated LAN links between primary and standby racks. System switch‑over completes within one logic scan cycle, the fastest switch‑over latency can hit 3.133 ms when fault condition occurs. Massive I/O addressing space is offered: discrete input and output each up to 32 K bits; analog input and analog output each up to 32 K words.
Backplane power draw: 1.0 A on 5 VDC rail and 1.25 A on 3.3 VDC rail. Front‑panel LED lamps and rotary configuration switches help operators check running mode, redundancy synchronization status and fault alarms without configuration software connection.

Conformal coated variant IC695CMU310CA can be selected for humid, salt‑mist and corrosive cabinet surroundings. Hot‑swap function is not available for this CPU unit; rack power should be cut off during hardware replacement procedure.

Environmental working limits follow industrial cabinet‑mount standard. Operating temperature keeps 0°C ~ +60°C. Storage and transportation temperature spans ‑40°C ~ +85°C. Humidity requirement is 5%‑95% non‑condensing atmosphere. This hardware complies with UL, cUL and CE safety certification specifications. Approximate physical weight is 0.68 kg.
During practical deployment, complete Max‑ON solution needs two sets of identical CMU310 hardware, matching Ethernet modules, proper power supply and redundancy‑enabled project configuration. Firmware versions of paired primary‑backup CPU must stay consistent, otherwise synchronization failure will appear. This hardware is only for RX3i universal rack and cannot be mounted on Series 90‑30 baseplate. Pay attention to battery service life and perform periodic replacement to avoid data loss when power failure happens. System scan time shall be reasonably arranged, long scan cycle will enlarge actual redundancy switch‑over delay.
