GE IC695PSD040F PACSystems RX3i 40 W DC Backplane Power Supply

IC695PSD040F is single‑slot DC power supply module for GE PACSystems RX3i universal backplane. It receives external 24 VDC field power and generates internal 3.3 VDC, 5.1 VDC backplane rails to feed CPU, communication and I/O modules; also provides isolated 24 VDC relay auxiliary output for relay‑type output modules. Version‑F is the latest hardware revision of IC695PSD040 series, drop‑in compatible with earlier revisions.

Maximum total output power is 40 W, maximum input power 60 W. Only one PSD040‑series supply can be installed on one universal main‑rack backplane; cannot be paralleled on same backplane for power‑sharing. Over‑voltage, over‑current and over‑temperature protection are built‑in; fault status can be reported to RX3i CPU via backplane for system diagnostics. Expansion racks require separate power supplies. Product status: Obsolete, available as spare‑part supply, reference manual GFK‑2314.

Mechanical Data

‑ Weight: approx 0.20 kg ‑ Dimension: RX3i single‑slot module form‑factor

Main Functions

  1. Provides regulated internal 3.3 VDC and 5.1 VDC power for all modules plugged into RX3i universal main‑rack backplane. Delivers auxiliary 24 VDC for relay‑output modules.
  2. Built‑in hardware protection prevents damage from overload, over‑temperature and input‑voltage anomalies. Sends fault diagnostic signals to RX3i CPU for event logging and alarm handling.
  3. Front‑panel LED indicators:   ‑ Green POWER: Input power present and supply operational   ‑ Red P/S FAULT: Internal power‑supply fault detected   ‑ Red OVERTEMP: Over‑temperature condition   ‑ Red OVERLOAD: Backplane output overload condition

Installation & Wiring Requirements

  1. Initial installation: cut off rack input 24 VDC power supply. Hot‑swap replacement is permitted. Apply ESD protection during module handling.
  2. Insert IC695PSD040F into one free slot of RX3i universal main‑rack backplane and engage locking latch.
  3. Field 24 VDC input wiring shall comply with GE RX3i hardware manual GFK‑2314. Use proper rated shielded cables, observe correct polarity. Reliable protective‑ground connection is mandatory.
  4. After replacement: Apply 24 VDC input power, verify all front‑panel LED status. Confirm no overload or fault alarms reported in Proficy Machine Edition system diagnostics. Validate full‑load backplane power margin.
  5. Replacement note: Re‑calculate total main‑rack module power consumption to stay within 40 W maximum rating. Expansion racks must use separate power supplies. Full‑system commissioning test is mandatory before putting into service.
