Installation & Wiring Requirements

- Insert IC697BEM731 into free slot of Series 90‑70 remote‑rack backplane and lock module latch. Connect 50‑pin expansion bus cable to IN port; for subsequent daisy‑chain remote racks, connect cable from OUT port to next‑rack IN port.
- Cable installation comply with manual GFK‑0366. Keep expansion bus cables away from high‑voltage power cables. Reliable protective‑ground connection is mandatory.
- After replacement: Power‑on racks, check front‑panel LED status. Download hardware configuration, confirm remote‑rack slot layout matches actual hardware. Test all digital and analog I/O signals in remote racks; simulate cable disconnection to verify fault alarm.
