Mechanical Data
‑ Weight: approx 0.42 kg ‑ Dimension: RX7i standard single‑slot VME module form‑factor
Main Functions
- Provides hardware‑level deterministic reflective‑memory data broadcasting across fiber‑loop network. Data written to shared memory on one node is automatically replicated to all other nodes on the network with minimal CPU overhead. Ideal for multi‑controller synchronous data sharing.
- Supports redundant transmission mode to reduce packet loss risk; programmable network interrupts notify RX7i CPU of network events.
- ‑ED conformal‑coated and extended‑temperature hardware improves reliability for plant locations with high humidity, condensation or corrosive airborne contaminants.
- Front‑panel LED indicators: ‑ OK: Module power‑on and self‑test passed ‑ LINK: Fiber loop network link active ‑ FAULT: Network loop break, parity error or hardware fault condition
Installation & Wiring Requirements
- Cut off full rack power supply before installation or replacement. Hot‑swap is not permitted. Apply ESD protection during module handling.
- Insert IC698CMX016‑ED into VME slot 3 or slot 4 of RX7i main rack and fasten module latch. Build daisy‑chain fiber loop: Tx port of one node connects to Rx port of next node; close loop back to first‑node receiver.
- Fiber cabling comply with manual GFK‑2324. Use specified multi‑mode LC fiber cables; avoid sharp fiber bending radius. Reliable protective‑ground connection for rack chassis is mandatory.
- After replacement: Power‑on rack power and check front‑panel LED status. Download hardware configuration, assign unique node‑ID and memory offset parameters for every network node. Validate reflective‑memory data mirroring between all nodes on fiber loop.
- Replacement note: Verify complete closed fiber loop; open loop will cause total network failure. All nodes must have distinct node‑ID. Full‑system commissioning test is mandatory before putting into service.
