Main Functions
- Operates as PROFIBUS‑DP Class‑1 master, communicates with field PROFIBUS‑DP slave devices such as drives, remote I/O packs and smart transmitters.
- Performs protocol conversion between Mark VIe IONet Ethernet and PROFIBUS‑DP, transfers cyclic process data and acyclic parameter access commands bidirectionally.
- Provides rich field‑bus diagnostic information: slave status, bus error count, communication fault and configuration mismatch alarms.
- Transmits process data and bus‑diagnostic events to Mark VIe main controller via redundant IONet bus.
- Continuous self‑diagnosis for module hardware, IONet link and PROFIBUS physical‑layer faults, reports fault alarm status.
- LED status indication: ‑ Green LED:PWR / Module power supply normal ‑ Yellow LED:STANDBY / ACTIVE, IONet LINK activity indicator ‑ Red LED:COM ERR / NOT SYS RUN, PROFIBUS bus‑fault and module‑fault alarm
Installation & Wiring Requirements
- Cut off I/O pack rack power supply before replacement. Hot‑swap is forbidden. Strict anti‑static protection when handling PCB board.
- Insert module into designated slot of I/O pack rack, lock module latch to ensure reliable backplane contact.
- PROFIBUS‑DP cable wiring strictly follow GE Speedtronic Mark VIe wiring manual; use shielded PROFIBUS‑DP cable, install bus terminator at physical bus tail‑end; separate field‑bus cables from high‑power cables; connect shielding to dedicated ground terminal.
- Complete protective grounding according to GE system specification.
- After replacement: verify IONet communication, download PROFIBUS configuration, scan slave stations, perform full bus‑commissioning test.
- Replacement note: For TMR triple‑redundant system application, hardware consistency and firmware‑version matching shall be verified; full PROFIBUS‑bus simulation test mandatory before unit put‑into‑service.
