HIMA ELOP II Safety PLC Engineering Configuration Software

ELOP II Factory is legacy engineering software for HIMA safety‑related PES systems, complying with IEC61131‑3 standard. It completes hardware configuration, safety logic programming, offline simulation, online debugging and diagnosis for HIMatrix, H41q / H51q safety controllers. New‑generation HIMA hardware adopts SILworX instead; ELOP II is mainly used for maintenance of old‑site existing equipment.

Description

Core technical traits

Supports multiple IEC‑61131‑3 programming languages, including function block diagram, ladder logic and structured text. Built‑in certified safety function blocks for SIS safety logic development up to SIL3 level. Contains offline simulation function, verifying safety logic before downloading to physical hardware. Online functions include real‑time I/O monitoring, variable browsing, safe signal forcing, fault log reading and project archiving. Project file compatibility limitation: projects made under ELOP II cannot be opened by SILworX, and vice versa. Matches CPU firmware version ≤V7; higher firmware versions require SILworX engineering platform. PC running environment: Windows legacy operating system, minimum 50MB hard‑disk free space, Ethernet communication interface for connecting to safety controller.

Deployment background

Commonly used for petrochemical, power plant and chemical plant safety instrument system maintenance. Responsible for burner management system (BMS), high‑pressure protection (HIPPS), emergency shutdown ESD logic configuration for old HIMA safety racks. This is PC‑side engineering tool, not rack‑insert hardware module. Site spare‑related objects are controller hardware, software usually transfers project configuration files rather than physical replacement. When maintaining old units, match the software version consistent with on‑site CPU firmware; version mismatch leads to download failure or communication breakdown.

Practical operation hints

Before online download, back‑up complete project source file and controller program archive. Strictly follow safety operating procedure when using signal forcing function during maintenance. Communication between PC and controller relies on SafetyEthernet, set correct IP segment, firewall shall not block related communication port. If original project source is lost, upload program from controller, but annotation and variable comment information cannot be restored.

Common site abnormal performances

  1. Cannot establish online connection: Check PC IP setting, network cable, controller firmware‑software version matching, firewall interception.
  2. Program download aborted: Project configuration inconsistent with actual rack hardware layout, firmware version mismatch.
  3. Offline simulation runs normally, while online logic behaves abnormally: Check hardware channel parameter and safety‑relevant parameter configuration.
  4. Project cannot open after version upgrade: ELOP II project files have backward compatibility limitation, do not arbitrarily upgrade software version for old site.
