2. Hardware Specifications
- Power Supply
- Backplane power: 20‑32VDC (nominal 24VDC), dual redundant backplane power supply; total power consumption approx. 75‑80W
- Processor & Memory
- 32‑bit TMR triple‑processor parallel voting;
- DRAM: 16 MB; EPROM: 512 KB; Flash: 2 MB; 128 KB battery‑backed NVRAM for program and fault log retention during power loss.
- Communication Interfaces
- Backplane TMR bus for local / expansion I/O rack connection;
- Ethernet, RS232 debug port, RS485; supports Modbus TCP and Trusted proprietary protocol for connection to engineering workstations and HMI host systems.
- Environmental Conditions
- Operating temperature: ‑40℃ ~ +70℃;
- Ingress protection IP20 (inside rack); for industrial cabinet installation.
3. Key Functions
- TMR Triple‑Modular Redundancy Voting: Three CPU channels run synchronously with 2‑out‑of‑3 voting. The system continues disturbance‑free operation if one processor channel fails. On‑line module replacement without shutdown.
- Comprehensive Hardware Self‑diagnosis: Real‑time monitoring of CPU, memory, communication and backplane. Time‑stamped fault logging. Front‑panel LED status indicators (Health, Run, Fault).
- Safety Logic Execution: Runs IEC61131‑3 programs (Ladder Diagram, Structured Text) for ESD emergency shutdown, fire‑gas protection and interlock logic.
- I/O Rack Management: Controls local racks and remote expansion I/O racks, drives T8xxx series I/O cards.
- Redundancy Configuration: Supports dual‑processor (active‑standby T8110C) hot‑standby mode for higher availability.
4. Typical Applications
‑ ESD emergency shutdown systems for petrochemical & chemical plants
‑ Safety interlocks for steam turbines and boilers in power plants
‑ Fire & Gas (F&G) safety systems for offshore oil‑gas platforms
‑ Other critical safety control applications requiring SIL3 rating
5. Important Notes
- Firmware version must match firmware of all system I/O modules. Mismatched firmware triggers voting faults and may cause system shutdown. Always check firmware build number when replacing spares.
- Spare part distinction: T8110B is legacy version; T8110C is upgraded variant. Do not mix installation without validation.
- NVRAM relies on the on‑board battery. Data retention will fail as battery ages; battery replacement on periodic basis is required.
- This module works only with dedicated Trusted chassis; incompatible with standard PLC racks.
