ICS T8151B TMR Communications Interface Module

The T8151B is a TMR triple‑modular‑redundancy communications interface module of ICS Triplex Trusted series. Compliant with IEC61508 SIL3 safety standard, it adopts 2‑out‑of‑3 voting architecture and supports hot‑swap. With an independent co‑processor to offload communication burden of main CPU, it is equipped with dual Ethernet ports and four programmable isolated serial ports. It supports protocols including Modbus TCP/RTU and SOE event upload to achieve reliable data interaction between SIS and DCS, HMI and third‑party devices, and provides full‑set communication diagnosis functions. It is widely applied in SIS safety instrumented systems of petrochemical, oil‑gas and power industries.

5. Important Notes

  1. Firmware version must match T8110C / T8111C processors and all system modules. Mismatched firmware will cause communication abnormality. Verify firmware build number when replacing spares.
  2. T8151B is a communication‑only interface module. It cannot replace CPU processor module and must work with Trusted series processors.
  3. Serial and Ethernet ports feature electrical isolation. Additional network isolation devices are still recommended for external networks.
  4. Compatible only with dedicated Trusted chassis; not applicable for standard PLC racks.
