3. Key Functions
- EMC Electromagnetic Shielding: Covers open unused 3‑slot openings of chassis, suppresses electromagnetic emission and external interference, ensures EMC performance of complete SIS system.
- Dust Protection: Blocks dust and debris from entering chassis backplane and protects backplane connectors.
- Airflow Preservation: Seals empty slots to maintain internal cooling airflow for adjacent active modules.
- Safety‑certificate Preservation: T8193 must be installed for vacant 3‑slot positions of Trusted chassis; otherwise system SIL‑3 certification will become invalid.
- Hot‑swap slot compatible: Installed in hot‑swap slots without affecting hot‑swap operation of neighboring modules.
4. Typical Applications

5. Important Notes
- T8193 is passive filler without communication, timing or processing capability. Do not confuse with active communication module T8191Rockwell A….
- Use genuine T8193 for 3‑slot vacant bays. Generic covers are not acceptable and will invalidate SIL‑3 certification.
- Only fits Trusted T8000‑series chassis, not applicable for other PLC racks.
- No firmware required, no firmware‑matching work needed.
