ICS T8231 750W AC‑Input Power Pack

The T8231 is a 750 W AC‑input power pack of ICS Triplex Trusted series. It is compatible with T8230 power shelf, supporting hot‑swap and N+1 redundant parallel operation. Converting 90‑264 VAC into 24 VDC, it supplies power for Trusted SIS controller and expansion chassis. Featuring over‑voltage, over‑current, over‑temperature protection and comprehensive fault diagnosis, it ensures continuous power supply for SIL3 safety‑instrumented systems. It is widely used for cabinet power supply of SIS systems in petrochemical, oil‑gas and power industries.

‑ Unit weight 2.7 kg; fits 19‑inch T8230 power shelf; up to three T8231 modules per shelfRockwell A….

  3. Environmental Conditions

    ‑ Operating temperature: 0℃ ~ +60℃; Storage temperature:‑40℃ ~ +85℃Rockwell A…

    ‑ Relative humidity: 10‑95% non‑condensing; IP20 (inside cabinet); built‑in over‑voltage, over‑current, over‑temperature and short‑circuit protection.

3. Key Functions

  1. SIS System Power Supply: Provides stable 24 VDC power for Trusted T8100 controller chassis, expansion chassis and all TMR modules; acts as core power unit for complete SIS system.
  2. N+1 Redundancy & Fault Tolerance: Multiple modules run in parallel redundancy. If one power unit fails or is hot‑swapped, remaining units take full load without system disturbance or shutdown.
  3. Comprehensive Hardware Self‑diagnosis: Real‑time detection for input under‑/over‑voltage, output abnormality, over‑temperature and fan fault. Front‑panel alarm indication; fault messages uploaded to Trusted system for software monitoring.
  4. Hot‑swap Maintenance: Faulty power module can be replaced online without system power‑off, reducing SIS shutdown risk during maintenance.
  5. Protective Mechanism: Automatic protection against output short‑circuit, over‑current, over‑voltage and over‑temperature. Fault latch‑off; auto‑recovery after fault removal.

4. Typical Applications

‑ Power supply for SIS cabinets of petrochemical & chemical ESD emergency shutdown and F&G fire‑gas systems

‑ Safety instrumented systems for offshore oil‑gas platforms and power plants with T8230 power‑shelf redundant power configuration

‑ Large‑scale Trusted projects adopting N+1 power redundancy for uninterrupted safety‑system operation

5. Important Notes

  1. T8231 must be installed in dedicated T8230 power shelf; cannot be inserted directly into T8100 controller chassis slots.
  2. Redundant configuration (2 or 3 units of T8231) is recommended. Single‑power operation is not allowed; single‑power failure will cause total SIS power loss.
  3. Install T8235 filler blind plates for vacant slots on power shelf to maintain airflow, EMC shielding and valid SIL3 certification.
  4. Output supplies chassis backplane only. Not for direct field‑device power feeding. Field instruments shall be powered by separate field power supplies.
  5. No firmware; no firmware‑matching required.
