TRLC0NEX 2201 TMR Digital Output Module

The Triconex 2201 is a triple modular redundant safety output card under Invensys Triconex safety system platform, certified for SIL3 safety applications. It executes 2-out-of-3 hardware voting to drive 24VDC field actuators including solenoid valves and alarm horns.
If one internal circuit path fails, the system only generates diagnostic alarms without false output action. When the whole module fails, all 16 output channels will revert to de-energized safe state. Field loads cannot be wired directly to this board; a matched terminal base must be used. It only works with Triconex TMR safety racks and cannot be mixed with other series hardware. Built-in hardware sequence-of-event function captures state changes with high precision for post-incident analysis.

Maintenance reminder: This is safety-related component. Full module failure will disable all 16 field actuators, leading to loss of safety protection for related process loops. Module diagnostic status should be checked regularly during routine inspection.

Installation & Maintenance Guidance

  1. Take anti-static measures during handling. Hot-swap operation is allowed with spare slot; otherwise power off the rack before module insertion or removal.
  2. Use shielded twisted pair cables for output circuits. Keep cables away from inverters and high-power motors to reduce electromagnetic interference. Tighten all terminal connections to avoid intermittent faults caused by poor contact.
  3. Fully insert module into slot to guarantee reliable contact of backplane gold fingers. Download validated project configuration and set load monitoring parameters. Complete channel-by-channel output test on site, confirm actuator action and SOE log work normally. Check system event log for version mismatch and bus communication alarms.
  4. Keep full backup of project configuration files. Do not disassemble damaged module on site; replace the whole unit directly once hardware failure occurs.
