Hardware Description
Rack plug-in I/O board. Front panel equipped with LED indicators for module run state, triple leg synchronization, fault alarm and individual channel status. Gold fingers on rear connect with rack backplane for power and TriBus data exchange. No field wiring terminals on the module itself; all field cables are connected to the matched terminal assembly. Model marking is printed on the module housing side.

Typical Field Applications
This module is widely deployed in ESD and F&G safety cabinets of petrochemical, refinery, natural gas and power plants, including nuclear safety-related projects. It collects status signals from emergency stop buttons, valve position feedback switches and fire & gas detectors with 115V AC/DC contact outputs, then sends validated signals to Tricon main processor for safety interlock calculation.
Maintenance Reminder: Safety-critical I/O hardware. Complete module failure will lead to loss of all 32 digital input signals and disable relevant safety monitoring loops. Regular inspection of module diagnostic status is required.
Installation & Maintenance Guidance
- Wear anti-static wristband during handling. Hot swap operation is allowed if redundant slot is available. Power off the whole rack before module replacement without redundant configuration.
- Use shielded twisted pair cables for field signal wiring. Separate signal cables from inverters and high-power motors to reduce electromagnetic interference. Fasten terminal screws tightly to avoid intermittent signal faults.
- Insert module fully into rack slot to guarantee reliable gold finger contact. Load validated project configuration and complete point-by-point signal simulation test. Confirm signal acquisition works normally and check system logs for version mismatch and bus warnings.
- Maintain full backup of project configuration files. Never disassemble faulty module on site; replace the whole unit once permanent hardware damage occurs.
Quick Troubleshooting Guide
- Multiple channels report loop faults at the same time: Inspect wiring on terminal base, check field cable open/short circuit and verify 115V field power supply.
- Unstable signal reading: Check terminal tightness, cable shielding grounding and field contact health.
- System reports leg mismatch alarms: Verify firmware consistency, clean dust and oxidation on backplane gold fingers.
- All front panel LEDs off: Check rack backplane 24V power supply and confirm full insertion of the module.
- All input values frozen: Check TriBus communication and processor operating status.
