TRLC0NEX 3625 TMR 32-Ch Supervised Digital Output Module

TRICONEX 3625 is a triple modular redundant output card developed for Tricon SIS platform with SIL3 certification. It receives safety interlock commands from main processors and drives 24VDC field actuators. Three independent signal branches execute 2oo3 hardware voting.
If one leg develops internal failure, the system only generates diagnostic alerts and keeps safety operation running. Complete module failure will de-energize all 32 output points and force field devices to safe condition. This card supports supervised or non-supervised working modes. Field wiring must connect to matched terminal base, and it only fits Tricon TMR racks.

Description

Key Performance Parameters

  • Channel layout: 32 commoned digital output channels, rated for 24VDC.
  • Redundancy design: TMR triple parallel circuit design, continuous built-in self-test for each channel.
  • Circuit diagnosis: Extended loop supervision to detect blown fuses, power loss, open circuit and short circuit on field wiring.
  • Internal communication: Exchange data and achieve leg synchronization via proprietary TriBus.
  • Power source: 20–32VDC backplane power supply, integrated reverse polarity and overvoltage protection. Hot-swap is available on racks with redundant spare slots.
  • Environmental specs: Operating temperature -40℃ ~ +70℃; storage temperature -40℃ ~ +85℃; humidity 5%–95% non-condensing. Conformal coated PCB option is available for dusty and mildly corrosive cabinet environments.
  • Spare replacement reminder: Check firmware compatibility after module replacement. Mismatched firmware will trigger false load alarms or output execution failure.

Physical Description

Chassis plug-in I/O card. The front panel has LED indicators showing module running state, triple leg synchronization and channel fault information. Gold fingers at rear connect to rack backplane for power supply and TriBus data transmission. No wiring terminals are arranged on the module itself. All field cables of solenoid valves are wired on supporting terminal assembly. Model code is printed on the side of metal housing.

Industrial Application Scenarios

This high-density output card is widely installed in ESD emergency shutdown, F&G fire and gas cabinets of petrochemical plants, offshore platforms, natural gas compressor stations and thermal power plants. It controls emergency shutdown valves, blowdown valves and audible & visual alarm equipment. Its dual-mode supervision function can find hidden circuit faults that cannot be detected by ordinary output modules.

Maintenance Note: This safety-critical hardware. Full module failure will lead to loss of all 32 output points and disable relevant safety protection loops. Regular inspection of diagnostic alarms is required in daily maintenance.

Handling & Service Instructions

  1. Wear anti-static wristband during module handling. Hot-swap operation is supported for racks with redundant spare slots. Power off the whole rack before module replacement without redundant setup.
  2. Use shielded twisted pair cables for field output wiring. Separate control cables from high-power motor and inverter cables to reduce electromagnetic interference. Tighten terminal screws properly to avoid intermittent poor contact.
  3. Insert the module fully into rack slot to guarantee stable gold finger contact. Download validated project configuration and perform point-by-point function test. Confirm field actuators respond correctly and check system logs for version mismatch and bus warnings.
  4. Keep complete backup copies of project configuration files. Never disassemble damaged module on site; replace the whole unit directly once permanent hardware damage occurs.

On-site Troubleshooting Checklist

  • Batch channels trigger load fault alarms simultaneously: Inspect wiring on terminal base, check field cables for open/short circuit and verify 24V field power supply and fuse status.
  • Actuator fails to respond after output command: Check safety logic setup, solenoid coil health and terminal tightness, confirm channel lock state caused by overload.
  • System reports leg mismatch alerts: Verify firmware consistency of three legs, clean dust and oxidation on backplane gold fingers.
  • No LED lights on front panel: Check rack backplane power supply and confirm full insertion.
  • Output status cannot update: Inspect TriBus link and running status of main processor.
