Description
Detailed Specifications
- Channel setup: 32 differential, DC-coupled analog input channels. Input range software selectable for 0–5VDC or ±5VDC, supports +6% over-range reading.
- A/D conversion: Resolution can be toggled between 12-bit and 14-bit. Full 32-channel scan cycle is only 10ms, suitable for fast-changing process variables. Measurement accuracy maintains less than 0.15% full scale from 0℃ to 60℃.
- Electrical performance: DC input impedance ≥10MΩ. Typical leg-to-leg isolation reaches 420kΩ. Common mode rejection ratio -85dB (DC~100Hz), effectively suppressing industrial electromagnetic noise and cross-channel interference. Built-in continuous overvoltage protection withstands 150VDC /115VAC transient surge.
- Redundancy & self-test: Three independent sampling legs operate synchronously. Median value selection automatically filters out abnormal data from any single faulty leg. Continuous background diagnostics run on every channel, detecting wire break, short circuit and signal loss without interrupting normal data collection.
- Internal bus: Validated process variables and diagnostic alarms are transmitted to Tricon main processors via proprietary TriBus. Time synchronization among three legs ensures consistent voting results.
- Power requirement: Powered by rack backplane 20–32VDC supply. Integrated reverse polarity and overvoltage protection circuits. Hot-swap maintenance works for racks with redundant spare slots.
- Environmental specs: Operating temperature -40℃ ~ +70℃; storage temperature -40℃ ~ +85℃; relative humidity 5%–95% non-condensing. PCB with full conformal coating, defending against dust, salt mist, moisture and mild corrosive vapor.
- Spare installation note: Firmware version must match the existing system after replacement. Version mismatch may trigger measurement offset, sporadic false channel alarms or three-leg synchronization failure. This module can only run on Tricon system version v10.2 and above.
Physical Characteristics
Rack plug-in I/O board. Front panel fitted with multi-color LED indicators to display module running status, triple leg synchronization and channel fault alerts. Gold finger contacts at rear connect to rack backplane for power delivery and TriBus data exchange. There are no field wiring terminals on the module itself. All sensor cables land on matched external terminal base assemblies. Model marking is printed on the side of metal housing, and mechanical keying prevents mismatched installation.

Site Application Scenarios
This coated high-speed differential analog input card is mainly selected for offshore platforms, coastal chemical plants and other harsh environments with salt fog and high humidity. It is widely deployed in ESD emergency shutdown, F&G fire & gas monitoring and burner management systems. It captures real-time voltage signals from pressure, temperature and level transmitters. Differential input design eliminates ground loop noise, and the protective coating greatly extends service life under severe ambient conditions. Fast 10ms full scan speed meets response requirements of fast safety interlock loops.
Maintenance Reminder: Safety-critical I/O hardware. Complete module failure leads to loss of feedback from all 32 analog measuring points, and relevant safety loops will execute predefined safe state strategy. Technicians should regularly check diagnostic alarms and cable integrity in daily inspection.
Operation & Maintenance Suggestions
- Anti-static wristband must be worn during module handling. Hot-swap maintenance is available for racks with redundant spare slots. If there is no redundant configuration, power off the whole rack before removing or inserting the module.
- Shielded twisted pair cables are required for field analog signal wiring. Keep sensor cables physically separated from high-power cables of motors and inverters to reduce electromagnetic interference. Control terminal tightening torque properly; loose terminals will cause signal drifting and unstable readings.
- Insert the module fully into rack slot to guarantee stable gold finger contact. Download validated project configuration after installation and carry out point-by-point signal simulation test. Confirm analog sampling responds synchronously with transmitter output changes, then check system logs for leg version mismatch and internal bus communication warnings.
- Keep complete backup copies of project configuration files and firmware. Never disassemble faulty module on site; replace the whole unit directly once permanent hardware damage occurs.
Field Troubleshooting Reference
- Multiple channels trigger loop fault alarms: Inspect wiring on terminal base, check field cables for open or short circuit and verify transmitter power supply.
- Analog readings jump or drift slowly: Check terminal tightness, cable shield grounding and installation health of field transmitters. Differential input design can reduce most ground loop interference.
- System raises leg mismatch warnings: Confirm firmware consistency of three legs, clean dust and oxidation on backplane gold finger contacts.
- No LED lights on front panel: Verify rack backplane power supply and confirm module is fully seated in slot.
- All analog values stop updating: Check TriBus link status and running condition of Tricon main processor.
