- Electrical parameters: Wide range universal input, 90–264VAC / 127–300VDC, frequency 47~63Hz. Max continuous output power reaches 240W. It converts the input power into multiple DC voltage rails for the backplane.
- Built-in protection: Integrates overvoltage, overcurrent, short circuit and overtemperature protection. Once fault occurs, the module triggers alarm and cuts off output to avoid damaging other rack components.
- Redundancy & self-test: Supports parallel load sharing with multiple identical power modules. Continuous self-test monitors internal temperature, output voltage and current. It sends fault alarm signals to system diagnostics when abnormal status is detected. Single power module failure will not shut down the whole SIS rack if redundant power is configured.
- Installation feature: Hot-swap capable. Technicians can replace faulty power unit online without shutting down the safety rack.
- Environmental specs: Operating temperature -40℃ ~ +70℃; storage temperature -40℃ ~ +85℃; relative humidity 5%–95% non-condensing. Suitable for installation inside industrial control cabinets with vibration and dust.
- Installation reminder: This PSU is designed for classic Tricon racks like 8110, 8112 and 8120E. It is not compatible with Tricon CX platform. Use the same model for redundant power group; mixed power types are forbidden.
Hardware Features
Rack plug-in power unit. Front panel has LED indicators: PASS, FAULT, ALARM, TEMP and BATT LOW. Input power terminals are on the front side for wiring. Rear gold finger contacts connect with chassis backplane to deliver DC power to all modules. Metal housing with internal heat sink for heat dissipation. This power supply module serves as the power source of Tricon SIS racks. Widely used in petrochemical plants, refineries, gas compressor stations, thermal power plants and offshore platforms for ESD emergency shutdown, burner management and turbomachinery protection systems. Redundant power configuration eliminates single point failure risk of power supply, which is essential for safety instrument systems that require uninterrupted operation.
Maintenance Tip: This is safety-critical power hardware. With redundant power setup, one faulty module can be replaced online. If all power modules fail, the SIS rack will lose power and trigger predefined safe state. Daily maintenance should check power status LED, cabinet temperature and cable tightness.
Maintenance & Operation Guidelines
- Wear anti-static wristband before handling the module. Hot-swap replacement is available for redundant power configuration. Disconnect AC/DC input wiring before removing the module.
- Keep cabinet air circulation. Avoid dust accumulation on the power module surface and heat sink, dust will cause overheating and intermittent power alarms.
- Insert the module fully into the dedicated power slot. After installation, verify PASS light is on, check system diagnostic logs for power alarm messages. Test load sharing function when multiple power modules are installed.
- Keep spare power modules of the same model on hand. Do not disassemble the power unit on site; replace the whole module once internal circuit damage occurs.
Common Troubleshooting
- FAULT LED lights up: Check input power voltage, inspect loose wiring, test for over-temperature or overload condition.
- Overtemperature alarm: Check cabinet fan, heat sink dust accumulation and ambient temperature inside cabinet.
- Redundant load sharing abnormal: Confirm all power modules are same model, inspect backplane gold fingers for dirt and oxidation.
- No LED illumination: Verify input power supply and wiring connection.
- Intermittent power dropout: Inspect input cable aging, loose terminal and cabinet vibration.
