- Channel layout: Standard version 9566-810 provides 32 commoned digital input points, supporting 24VDC / 48VDC discrete signals. Each channel is fitted with a 180Ω current-limiting resistor to restrict surge current from field loops.
- Matching rule: It is designed for 64-point digital input I/O cards. One 64-point DI module requires two 9566-8XX termination panels to cover all signal points. Pre-printed channel labels (1–32 and 33–64) are supplied for site marking.
- Wiring design: Equipped with shared PWR+ / PWR- common power terminals. Spring or screw terminal blocks simplify field wiring and inspection work.
- System compatibility: Works with classic Tricon v9 and v10 platforms. Not compatible with Tricon CX safety racks. This is a passive termination unit without backplane gold fingers.

Application Scenarios
This series termination panels are widely used in ESD emergency shutdown, fire & gas monitoring, turbomachinery protection and burner management systems for petrochemical plants, refineries, gas compressor stations, thermal power plants and offshore platforms. It collects discrete signals from pressure switches, level switches and temperature switches. The built-in current limiting resistor can protect Tricon DI module from field short-circuit surge damage.
Maintenance Tip: This is safety-related signal marshaling hardware. Field short circuit will trigger channel diagnostic alarm while other signal channels remain operational. Daily maintenance should check terminal tightness and cable insulation condition.
Maintenance & Operation Guidelines
- Wear anti-static wristband before wiring modification. Cut off field 24V/48V signal power before touching terminals to avoid current surge.
- Keep cabinet interior clean. Dust accumulation on terminals will cause intermittent signal dropout. Prevent corrosive vapor and liquid from contacting the PCB board.
- Complete wiring work and use dedicated cable to connect termination panel and Tricon DI module. Run point-by-point signal simulation test, confirm DI signal can be uploaded to controller normally, and check system diagnostic logs.
- Keep spare panels of correct variant on hand. Do not modify internal circuit resistors on site; replace the whole panel once PCB suffers permanent damage.
Common Troubleshooting
- No DI signal reading: Check field loop power supply, terminal looseness, cable breakage and resistor integrity.
- Intermittent signal loss: Inspect terminal oxidation, cabinet vibration and cable aging.
- Multiple channels abnormal: Verify shared common power terminal connection status.
- Signal cannot be acquired after replacement: Confirm panel variant matches DI module, check dedicated connection cable.
- High leakage current alarm: Inspect field cable insulation degradation.
