Core Specifications
- Channel layout: 16 analog input channels per panel. Designed for differential non-commoned analog signals, supporting 4~20mA, 0~5VDC, 0~10VDC, ±5VDC.
- Circuit components: Each positive channel has a 180Ω current limiting resistor; each input channel integrates a 250Ω precision resistor for current-to-voltage conversion. Supports redundant 24VDC power supply with diode ORing circuit.
- Matching rule: One 32-point Tricon analog input module requires two pieces of 9771-2XX termination panels. The panel comes with two groups of printed labels (1–16 / 17–32). Connect to AI module through dedicated flat ribbon cable.
- Wiring design: Screw terminal blocks, suitable for solid and stranded copper instrument cables. Clear channel marking for wiring inspection.
- Platform compatibility: Classic Tricon v9~v11 systems. Passive DIN rail mounted panel, no backplane gold fingers and cannot plug into rack slots. Not compatible with Tricon CX platform.
- Environmental range: Operating temperature -40℃ ~ +70℃; storage temperature -40℃ ~ +85℃; relative humidity 5%–95% non-condensing. Vibration resistant for cabinet installation.
- Installation reminder: Different suffix codes correspond to different functional versions. Confirm the complete part number before ordering. Shield grounding must follow SIS project standards to reduce signal noise.
Physical Construction
PCB assembly in green plastic housing. Front side is fitted with multi-channel screw terminals for field transmitter wiring. Onboard precision conversion resistors and current limiting resistors. A dedicated multi-pin connector is reserved for ribbon cable to link with Tricon AI module. Channel numbers are printed clearly on panel surface.

Application Areas
This series termination panels are widely used in petrochemical plants, refineries, gas compressor stations, thermal power plants and offshore platforms. It supports ESD emergency shutdown, burner management, turbomachinery protection and fire & gas safety systems. It receives analog signals from pressure, level and temperature transmitters. The built-in signal conditioning resistors help convert current loop signals for Tricon differential AI modules, and protect I/O cards from field surge interference.
Maintenance Note: This is safety-related signal marshaling hardware. Fault on a single channel only affects that measurement loop, other analog points remain functional. Daily maintenance should check terminal tightness, cable shielding and insulation condition.
Operation & Maintenance Suggestions
- Wear anti-static wristband before wiring modification. Cut off field 24V instrument power supply before touching terminals to avoid surge damage.
- Keep cabinet interior clean. Dust buildup on terminals will cause signal fluctuation and drift. Prevent corrosive vapor and liquid from contacting PCB.
- After wiring completion, connect ribbon cable between termination panel and AI module. Run point-by-point signal simulation test, verify analog reading stability, and check system diagnostic logs for overrange alarms.
- Store spare panels of correct variant. Do not replace onboard precision resistors randomly on site; replace the whole panel once PCB suffers permanent damage.
Common Fault Handling
- Analog reading zero or full scale: Check transmitter power supply, terminal looseness, cable breakage and resistor integrity.
- Unstable and drifting signal: Inspect poor shielding grounding, loose terminals and electromagnetic interference.
- Overrange alarm: Verify transmitter range setting, check wiring polarity and cable short circuit.
- Multiple channels abnormal: Check redundant 24VDC power and common ground connection.
- No signal after panel replacement: Confirm panel variant matches AI module, inspect ribbon cable pin definition.
