Description
Core performance features
This unit is installed in robot cabinet frame, powered by internal 24VDC power supply. On‑board processor completes trajectory calculation for robot joints, sends motion commands to servo drive units. Equipped with Ethernet and serial communication ports, realizing connection with teach pendant, HMI and upper monitoring equipment. Non‑volatile memory keeps user programs, tool offsets and historical fault records. Indicator lights show power status, program running state and internal hardware faults. Built‑in watchdog circuit triggers safety interlock when program runs abnormally. Working temperature 0‑50℃, IP20, only for cabinet‑inner installation. It belongs to old‑generation hardware, already end‑of‑life from original manufacturer.
On‑site application scenarios
Mainly matched with Adept MV series multi‑axis robots, widely used in assembly stations, material handling and automated packaging production lines. Once this controller fails, robot cannot perform jog movement and automatic cycle. It is an important maintenance spare for old robot equipment. After replacement, need to import backup program, tool parameters and mechanical zero‑point data, complete homing calibration before putting into production.
Installation & operating notes
Cut off total power of robot cabinet before disassembly and mounting. Live plug‑pull is forbidden, static electricity may damage onboard chips. Check backplane connectors and flat cables for bent pins, dust and oxidation, ensure full locking. Keep backup copies of robot programs and mechanical parameters in advance. After hardware swap, download configuration and complete safety simulation test. Maintain good cabinet ventilation. Dust accumulation will accelerate component aging. Do not disassemble internal components on‑site; replace whole unit when permanent hardware fault occurs.
Common field phenomena & disposal thoughts
- All indicators stay dark after power‑on: Check cabinet 24VDC auxiliary power supply. Inspect back‑plane connection. If power input is normal, internal hardware damage is suspected.
- Robot cannot jog or execute automatic task: Check communication link between controller and servo drives. Confirm safety loop contact status. Verify integrity of robot parameter files.
- Random stop‑off and alarm during robot operation: Monitor cabinet ambient temperature. Check connector fastening status. Read internal fault log to locate anomaly source.
- Cannot connect with programming software: Check communication cable and port setting. Confirm software version matches controller firmware. Eliminate surrounding electromagnetic interference.
